Salon Institute graduates have developed careers where they specialize in one segment of the beauty industry, including:

    • nail technician
    • skin care and waxing
    • freelance make up artist
    • bridal hair and make up stylist
    • traveling as a salon educator for a product company

It’s awesome to find a niche specialty where you can show off your best skills. Salon Institute’s Advanced Cosmetology Program gives students a well-rounded education so that you can confidently choose if and how you want to specialize … and then have options.

The Salon Institute’s Cosmetology Program is a 1,500 clock hour program that covers hair cutting, coloring, styling and chemical treatments, nail theory and classic manicuring and pedicuring (including gel laquer and GEL-X extensions), skin care, classic relaxing facial techniques and aromatherapy, facial waxing, and regular make-up. If you attend the Cosmetology Program 5-days per week, you will be projected to graduate in 11 months.

Our Hair Designer Program is a 1,200 clock hour program that focuses strictly on elements of men and women's hair cutting, coloring, styling techinques and chemical treatments. Using the internationally recognized TIGI curriculum, our students complete their program confident and ready to become a viable part of a salon or shop -- in as little as 9 months! The Hair Designer Program has been a fantastic fit for students who are more interested in barbering and focusing only on hair cutting once they graduate. While the Hair Design Program is not a barbering program, it does focus on elements of men’s hair cutting and grooming. It does not include education in straight razor shaving.

While the Salon Institute’s goal is to produce confident, salon-viable future stylists, our reputation is grounded in our TIGI hair education and we are very proud of the responses we have received from the salons who have hired our graduates. Our programs are not a fit for students who do not plan on learning hair styling skills, even if they do not choose to focus on hair once they graduate. We do not offer a nail tech only program, nor do we offer an aesthetics only program. We build nail and aesthetic training into our Cosmetology and Advanced Cosmetology Programs.
