OVERVIEW
Salon Institute offers Advanced Cosmetology to individuals seeking licensure as advanced hairdressers.
The Advanced Cosmetology introduces and guides students in the areas of modern haircutting, coloring and hairdressing, as well as esthetics, nails and business training. This program teaches techniques to help students meet the level of proficiency in cosmetology and advanced cosmetology as required by the State of Ohio.
So what does the Advanced Cosmetology offer you that a Cosmetology license doesn’t? The Ohio State Board of Cosmetology requires stylists to have an advanced license in order to obtain an instructor’s license and teach.

YOU'LL MASTER
Students learn how to work with Babe Hair Extensions, using 100% Remy human hair to practice professional extension application. Training includes selecting the right method for each client, applying tape‑in, beaded, fusion, or sew‑in extensions, blending and cutting for a seamless finish, and maintaining extensions safely. This hands‑on experience prepares students to offer length, volume, and transformation services confidently in a salon setting.
Students learn to apply classic lash extensions using Bella Lash’s professional techniques and products. Training includes proper isolation, adhesive control, lash mapping, and safe removal, along with sanitation and eye‑area safety. By practicing on mannequins and live models, students build the precision, speed, and confidence needed to offer beautiful, long‑lasting lash extension services in a salon setting.
Course
Salon Management gives students a basic introduction to how salons run day‑to‑day. They learn the differences between booth rental and commission‑based employment, explore what to expect in each environment, and visit local salons to see real operations in action.
